RCF Arena, Europe’s largest open-air concert space, recomposes different ways of using open space into an organic system to create a unique gathering place. Its realization constitutes an urban regeneration and reuse operation, affecting a 20-hectare brownfield site and transforming it into a park developed for new functions without land consumption, with the increase of permeable area and the provision of new trees. The design concept relies solely on landscape design tools: soil modeling, embankments and excavations, and environmental engineering. Moreover, a system of paths with an organic structure links the new green infrastructure to the sinuous course of the waterways that surround it.
