A former Candy Factory recovered as Social Space

In the Cornigliano district in Genoa, a regeneration intervention has been recently completed on the buildings that hosted the confectionary Dufour, dismissed a long time ago. The project for the new Civic Center is a re-elaboration of the original structure, preserving traces of the former industrial destination and reorganizing space by enhancing its accessibility and functionality to give rise to a public use system and host social and recreational functions. The project by Dodi Moss and SAB has provided the citizenship again an open and accessible place, which combines a center for meeting and sociality, a polyvalent gym, dance and billiard halls, games rooms and cultural areas, and equipped open areas within a single complex.
