National Archaeological Museum of Aquileia, Udine

New Building Special mention

Gnosis Progetti

Before Gnosis Progetti’s intervention, the museum was isolated from the other buildings because Villa Cassis Faraone was independent of the galleries and warehouses. Gnosis Projects restored the existing works and built two new structures: one connecting the villa and the galleries and the other extending the warehouses with a new building body. The new facility allows visitors to enjoy a more homogeneous indoor route, removing architectural barriers. Both structures were designed to take up and reinterpret historical signs in a contemporary way.
