The redevelopment of the former CGE factory and the construction of the Luxottica Digital Factory on a project by Park Associati and MSC Associati studio, who won the design competition, is in continuity with the virtuous process of urban regeneration of the area, which has changed its aspect. The project of the Digital Factory incorporates the client’s identity principles: attention to quality, technologically innovative materials, search for avantgarde architectural solutions, acknowledgment of the specific values of the place, and respect for the social context. A complex retrofitting project transforms the building into an open and flexible container, updating safety and sustainability parameters through the adoption of the LEED protocol; on the ground floor, it hosts showrooms and some commercial spaces; on the upper floor is the Digital Lab, the high-tech innovation center.
